Orlando FWA meeting 2nd Wednesday, July 11th @ 6:30 pm
Our normal meeting time and day is the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm, however in July 2012 that falls on July 4th – Independence Day! Holidays are sacred to me because I can sleep all day, wake up in the afternoon, and someone else has prepared the holiday meal and the festive atmosphere. After making a brief appearance for a few burgers and hot dogs, I go right back to the couch for a nap and let the others clean up. Ladies, am I a catch or what?
      But I digress…
In July 2012, the Orlando FWA meeting will be held on the second Wednesday of the month, July 11th, at 6:30 pm at the University Club in Winter Park.

From I-4 East or West, take the Lee Road exit and head East toward the Atlantic Ocean. Lee Road will dead end at 17-92 (Orlando Ave.) where you will make a right turn, then get immediately into the left turn lane to make a left on Webster (as you turn a Borders book store will be on your right). Follow Webster through a light at Denning, then another light at the railroad tracks, then you will come to a stop sign, actually stop, then before the next stop sign (which is Park Ave) you will turn left into the University Club. Go up the ramp to the side door, then keep going to your left inside to the library where we hold the meeting.

      Ten Professional Humor Writing Secrets

The Orlando FWA presents Erik Deckers giving his talk Ten Professional Humor Writing Secrets on Wednesday, February 1st from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the University Club in Winter Park. Erik has been blogging since 1997, and has been a published writer for more than 27 years. He has been a newspaper humor columnist for over 20 years, and is published in 10 newspapers around Indiana. He is also an award-winning playwright, both for stage and radio theatre. The meeting is free and open to the public.
