Writing What I Love to Read: Short Stories and Poems

Philip F. Deaver, winner of the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction and Rollins College Writer in Residence and Professor of English, will be our guest speaker on October 6, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Orlando FWA meeting held at the University Club of Winter Park. Philip will talk about the art and craft of short stories and poetry. Using autobiographical information in fiction and poems he will discuss the importance of embracing key literary influences and keeping one’s creative bar high.
