A “guided tour” of writer’s hangouts

Do you ever wonder where all your fellow writers go? where you can meet or rub elbows with other creative types? where you can soak up some inspiration? where you can just sit and relax and write?

Yes, O-Town is full of places where you can get exposure for your work, where you can take books to sell, where you can experiment, and where you can make serious contacts. But, how do you know where they are?

Join member Elaine Person at the next meeting of the Orlando Area Writers Group (Florida Writers Association), on Wednesday, September 3, as she takes us on a journey of local writing and free-thinking hangouts. A renowned area poet, humorist, and haiku-slammer, “word jammer” Elaine will discuss where local authors, poets, artists, and similar creative types hang out, what activities and events different local venues host, and what kinds of crowds attend certain places.

Among the places we’ll hear about are

Dandelion CommuniTea Cafe . . .
Cup o’ Soul . . .
Infusion Tea . . .
UrbanThink! bookstore . . .
Classics and Comedies Movie Club night at the Marks Street Senior Recreation Complex

Why, by the time our meeting ends, your calendar will be FULL of can’t-miss locales for all your needs!

That next meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the University Club of Winter Park. The University Club is located at 841 Park Avenue North, on the northwest corner of Park and Webster Avenue. Our meetings are free and open to the public. For additional information, visit the group blog at http://www.fwa-orlando.org or contact Stephen Evans, group leader, at ImYourEditor@hotmail.com or 407-898-4299.
